ABOUT THE MANCHESTERS

The Manchester Terrier is one of the oldest terrier breeds. By the early 1800’s the Black and Tan Terrier was crossed with the whippet giving them that “elegant” look. This breed is a very sporty and versatile  overall dog. With their natural terrier instinct they make for great ratting dogs. However, this breed is not a sparring breed, they are actually known as the “gentleman’s terrier.” Most people assume with the terrier in them, they naturally act terrier like. However, they are quite the opposite. You can ask these dogs to run a marathon with you, and they would, but at the end of the day this breed just wants to cuddle with their people. If you are looking for a semi active and low maintenance dog, well this is the breed for you!
